Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 10th, 2026

Canvas & Code Factory ("Company", "we", "us", "our") operates Click Events ("App"), an event management platform that lets Users create invites, track RSVPs, share event photos, chat with guests, and discover event vendors through our Marketplace.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our [Terms and Conditions]. This Policy is drafted in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act").

By using the App, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data as described here.

Scope of This Policy

This App is intended for use by individuals located in India, for events taking place in India. We do not knowingly direct, market, or offer our Services to individuals located outside India. If you access the App from outside India, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with any local laws that may apply to you. This Policy is drafted with reference to Indian law and does not represent compliance with data protection frameworks of other jurisdictions (such as the EU’s GDPR or the US’s CCPA/CPRA).

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Data you give us directly

  • Account data: name, phone number, profile picture (optional) and other details you enter when signing up for an account and adding information to your User profile.
  • Event data: event name, date, time, location/venue, description, and other details you enter when creating an Invite.
  • Guest contact data: phone numbers, or names of people you invite to your event (you must have their consent to share this with us — see Section 4 of the Terms).
  • RSVP data: attendance status, guest count, or any other response fields you configure.
  • Photos: images uploaded to a shared event album.
  • Chat data: messages sent through the in-app chat feature.
  • Marketplace data: search queries, vendor category preferences, and any contact requests you make to a Vendor (venue, caterer, gift vendor, or planner).

1.2 Data we collect automatically

  • Device information (device model, OS version, unique device identifiers).
  • App usage data (features used, screens viewed, crash logs).
  • Approximate location, if you grant location permission (e.g., to help set an event venue or find nearby Vendors).
  • IP address and general log data.

1.3 Data from third parties

  • If you sign up or log in using a third-party service (e.g., Google), we receive basic profile information from that service as permitted by your settings there.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

  • Create and manage your account;
  • Enable event creation, Invite distribution, and RSVP tracking;
  • Display shared photo albums to invited participants of the same event;
  • Enable in-app chat between event participants;
  • Connect you with Vendors through the Marketplace and share your contact details with a Vendor when you initiate a request to that Vendor;
  • Send you transactional notifications (Invite received, RSVP reminders, chat messages, event updates);
  • Improve, troubleshoot, and secure the App;
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities;
  • Send optional promotional communications, where you have opted in (you may opt out at any time).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Sharing Guest Data

When you use the App to invite Guests, add contacts, or share event details:

3.1 You are responsible for having appropriate consent from the individuals whose contact details you share with us for the purpose of sending Invites.

3.2 We use Guest contact details only to deliver the Invite and related event communications (e.g., RSVP reminders, event updates), and not for any independent marketing purpose.

3.3 Guest phone numbers may be shared with third-party SMS, or messaging gateway providers (e.g., WhatsApp Business API providers) solely to transmit the Invite.

4. Marketplace & Vendor Data

4.1 The Marketplace displays contact details (phone number, email, and/or other listed information) of third-party Vendors — venues, caterers, return gift vendors, and event planners — to help you find and reach out to them.

4.2 We do not share your personal data with Vendors. If you choose to contact a Vendor, you do so directly and voluntarily, using the contact details displayed to you. Any information you then share with that Vendor (e.g., your phone number, event details) is shared by you, at your discretion, and is governed by that Vendor’s own privacy practices — not ours.

4.3 We are not responsible for how a Vendor handles, stores, or uses any information you choose to share with them directly.

4.4 Vendor-provided data (business name, service details, pricing, contact info) that you see on the Marketplace is provided by the Vendor and displayed to help you make contact; we do not independently verify its accuracy (see Section 10 of the Terms and Conditions).

4.5 If you believe a Vendor listing itself contains inaccurate or misleading information, or if a Vendor misuses information you shared with them, please report it to us at canvasandcodefactory@gmail.com so we can investigate, including removing the Vendor’s listing where appropriate.

5. Photos & Shared Albums

5.1 Photos you upload to an event’s shared album are visible to all participants who have been invited to, or granted access to, that specific event.

5.2 We store photos on secure cloud infrastructure to enable album functionality. We do not use your event photos for advertising or share them outside the relevant event’s participant group without your consent, except as required by law.

5.3 Photos you upload are automatically compiled into a Memories video for the event.

5.4 If a photo you appear in was uploaded without your consent, contact the Host of the event or our Grievance Officer (Section 12) to request removal.

6. Chat Data

6.1 We store chat messages to allow message history, delivery, and syncing across your devices for the duration relevant to the event (and a reasonable period afterward).

6.2 We do not proactively read or monitor chat content. We may access chat data only: (a) in response to a valid legal request, (b) to investigate a reported violation of our Terms, or (c) to maintain the technical functioning of the Service.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We (and our service providers) may use cookies, SDKs, or similar tracking technologies to understand app usage, improve performance, and diagnose issues. You can control certain tracking through your device settings, though disabling some tracking may limit App functionality.

8. Data Storage & Security

8.1 Your data is stored on cloud servers, which may be located in India or other jurisdictions with adequate data protection safeguards.

8.2 We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures (encryption in transit, access controls, etc.) to protect your data, consistent with the IT Rules, 2011. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8.3 In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required under applicable law.

9. Data Retention

9.1 We retain your account data for as long as your account is active.

9.2 Event data, RSVP responses, shared photos, and chat messages are generally retained for the duration of the event and a reasonable period afterward to allow participants to view memories, after which they may be archived or deleted.

9.3 You may request earlier deletion of specific data by contacting us, subject to any legal retention obligations.

10. Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023 and other applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Withdraw consent for processing (which may limit your ability to use certain features);
  • Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements;
  • Nominate another individual to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity;
  • Grievance redressal — raise a complaint about how your data is handled (Section 12).

To exercise these rights, contact us at [canvasandcodefactory@gmail.com]. We will respond within the timeline required under applicable law.

11. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 18 to independently create accounts. Where a minor participates in an event as a Guest (e.g. appears in shared photos) under parental/guardian supervision, the inviting Host/parent is responsible for ensuring appropriate consent. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take steps to delete it.

12. Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made thereunder, the Grievance Officer for privacy-related complaints is:

Grievance Officer: Aishwarya Prakash
Email: canvasandcodefactory@gmail.com

We will acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within the timeline prescribed by applicable law.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
